An Interesting Spiritual Healing Fact
What Is Spiritual Healing?
Spiritual healing can involve the body, mind, and spirit and often goes beyond our human intelligence. Spiritual healing is recognition of a higher power beyond our own limits. We have an acceptance and a relationship with a Higher Power, or God that gives us inspiration, security, peace, joy, and spiritual guidance. Spiritual people believe the body, mind, and spirit should work together and be in harmony for good physical and emotional health.

Can Spiritual Healing Be Proven?
There are many holistic and therapeutic techniques that involve some spiritual traits. They may use different approaches and styles but all use spirituality as the key. Healers may call upon angels, God, or other spiritual beings to channel healing power to the patient. They may practice in healing centers, hospice care units, nursing homes or hospitals. Spiritual healers will often work long distance over the Internet or the telephone.
Schools offer courses in spiritual healing and offer certificates. There are no regulations regarding spiritual healers or any other certifications. Many spiritual healers use therapeutic touch, Ayurveda, counseling, metaphysical and supernatural healing powers and Reiki. These many groups are clumped together under the heading of holistic healing. In early history, spiritual healing was tied closely to religious salvation. The Native American culture has long practiced shamanism and believes it will help anyone regardless of age or gender. They may use herbs, mineral, and animal materials in their practice of spiritual healing.
Limited research has been conducted on spiritual healing. It is difficult to receive accurate information because it is hard to design these studies. The theory behind spiritual healing is to help improve a patient's quality of life even if the illness is not healed. Spiritual healers may ask the patient to use visualization, positive thinking, and prayer to improve emotions and lift depression.
Some spiritual healers claim to direct energy to the patient through direct physical contact. There are some who claim the ability to heal from long distance by directing healing energy and prayer to the patient.
Spiritual and physical healing can occur in many circumstances because it allows the patient to release tension, worries, and anxieties. This benefits many physical problems such as anxiety, depression, high blood pressure and emotional problems. Releasing of stress can also relieve back pain, mental and emotional illness, and migraine headaches. Any illness or disease should be investigated by a medical professional and it is not wise to rely on divine or spiritual healing. There is a danger in relying strictly on spiritual healing for a dangerous medical or emotional condition. Waiting to see if spiritual healing worked may cause a delay in getting the correct medical treatment and increase the risk of death. Timely medical intervention can work in conjunction with spiritual healing to increase the chance of surviving a medical or emotional crisis.
Scientists studying spiritual healing have reported patients have a faster recovery time, improved quality of life, and improved physical function. Scientists claim spiritual healing has not been proven to be beneficial or effective to patients. Try telling that to the parents of a child with an inoperable tumor that disappears before surgery. Convince the woman who went into a small spiritual group barely able to walk because of back pain and was without pain after being anointed and prayed over. Although there may not be any scientific evidence to prove the validity of spiritual healing claims, there are many who testify to the healing power they have experienced. |
