An Interesting Spiritual Healing Fact
Dealing With Suffering
Where is God when we are suffering? Many people have asked that question. When God created us he made us perfect until sin was brought into the world. When sin was introduced, suffering followed. It is no longer a perfect world and we can all expect some suffering in our lives. Why is it that some people seem to suffer more than others? Why do some people have to endure constant pain and slow death from cancer? Why do Christian marriages break apart and cause suffering for adults and...

Spiritual Healing For The Spiritual
If you are a religious leader you already know that being on call to help others is physically, emotionally, and spiritually draining. You often find you are so busy keeping families together, praying for the sick, and encouraging your congregation you have little time left to keep up your spiritual health. What happens when Pastors, Youth Ministers, Rabbis, or Priests need spiritual healing? That is a thorny question because most congregations and spiritual groups look at their leader as the strongest member of the group. If a Clergyman allows his soul to be spiritually drained, whom can he contact for spiritual help? Obviously he cannot go to his Church or congregation to seek help. The truth is there are few facilities to help Pastors and Spiritual Leaders if they suffer an emotional and spiritual breakdown.
Many Spiritual Leaders find a gap in their work and life that allows depression and disillusionment then sets in. Pastors, Youth Ministers, and other Clergy are human and can still be hurt, wounded, and suffer from emotional and mental breakdowns. Many walk away from organized religion because of their anger and resentment that no one would recognize or help them deal with. After giving love and healing to others, they often walk away feeling unloved and definitely not healed!
Spiritual healing needs a spiritual diagnosis and if that happens to us we need to look at our spiritual diet. Are we feeding ourselves with God's Word? Are we taking the time to linger in His presence? Christians believe their faith will lead them to everlasting life with God. Spiritual health for the healers is an essential part of the ministry. Many spiritual leaders feel they have no one to turn to when they are experiencing doubt, or burn out in the ministry. Spiritual healing must take place by tapping into our Higher Power and allowing healing into our lives. This is just as important for the Leader as the layperson. This is a personal relationship to God or your Higher Power, not just following the Church or religious laws.
Spiritual healing for spiritual leaders is emerging as a growing need in the ministry. Denominations are planning religious retreats that allow their Ministers and Leaders to renew their own spiritual lives and there is counseling available for those who are feeling too much stress. Burnout is a real danger to these Spiritual Leaders!
One group who is tackling the problem of burnout and disillusion is the Smoldering Wick Ministries. Their services are free. They are offered at no charge because wages are usually low for Spiritual leaders and Ministers. This ministry includes personal counseling, friendship, tapes and written articles designed to give unconditional love to the wounded spiritual leader. A couple that knows runs the ministry firsthand about termination, persecution, and burnout. Spiritual leaders give so much of themselves it is important they be allowed to express anxieties without others thinking they have lost their faith. We should love them as they love us and Christ loves the Church. |

MICAH: Not your run of the 'mill' retreat house (Crookston Daily Times)
In a less than a week's time, the lone, 33-foot windmill erected at the rural site of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH) has generated 100 kilowatt hours of power. That's about equal to all of the power that has been used since construction began two months ago on a retreat house located on the property located in rural Crookston.
